Leadership Team
Western Gateway Elementary is kicking off our fifth year with two amazing new leaders: Interim Superintendent Dr. Tom Deighan and Principal Lindsay Floyd. Both bring experience, big ideas and plenty of heart to our school community.

Meet Dr. Deighan
Dr. Deighan has spent more than 30 years in Oklahoma public education, including 13 years as superintendent. He’s led schools through growth, big changes and exciting new chapters — exactly the kind of leadership WGES needs!
Outside of work, Dr. Deighan is a big fan of cycling up Mt. Scott (but only when it’s cool outside!). He’s been married to his high school sweetheart for 36 years and is a proud dad to three adult daughters.

Meet Principal Floyd
Ms. Floyd is no stranger to WGES — she served as our Director of Education in 2025. Before that, she was an assistant principal and an elementary teacher, known for her creative approach to teaching and her passion for student success.
She’s also had some pretty cool adventures — like teaching English to university students in Brazil for a year! When she’s not at school, she enjoys basketball, volleyball and board games, and she has coached track, cross country and basketball.

Looking Ahead
As one of Oklahoma City’s only dual-language schools, WGES continues to focus on academic excellence and creating a school where every child can thrive. With Dr. Deighan providing steady leadership as Interim Superintendent and Ms. Floyd leading the way as Principal, the 2025-26 school year is shaping up to be full of growth, learning and fun.
We can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for our students, staff and families this year!
